The DEUTSCHLAND TEST institute conducted an extensive study between May 2021 and May 2022 to determine which shopping and outlet centers in Germany are rated particularly positively by customers.
A total of around 1.18 million online and social media posts were evaluated across Germany in collaboration with the FactField market research institute. Weserpark not only qualified as a "top shopping center", but also took first place as the best center in a top-class group of participants.
We are very proud of this award. It is a compliment to our work, as RME has been responsible for Weserpark as an asset- and center manager since January 2018. Opened in 1990, Weserpark is one of the largest shopping centers in northern Germany, with over 76,000 m², lettable area, over 170 tenants and 4,700 car parking spaces. With numerous measures, our real estate specialists have worked to continuously increase the center's attractiveness. In 2018, for example, the food court was modernized and redesigned. New space layouts, improved routing and furnishings have significantly increased the quality of stay.
In 2020, we were able to reallocate the former real-SB department store. A spacious EDEKA e-center and a Müller drugstore moved in. In summer 2021, new outdoor gastronomy was established. The restaurant operators L'Osteria and The ASH await visitors with an extensive terrace area and green surroundings that convey a mediterranean flair. Our marketing is also an important building block for this success: Customers always find out about the many attractions at Weserpark via advertising campaigns and social media channels, which our center management operates intensively as a representative of the advertising community. We still have many ideas for the future.
